A Boeing 777 was damaged at Malpensa Int Airport, Italy

On March 5th, a catering truck struck a parked Boeing 777-300 at Milan Malpensa Airport while it was being prepared for a flight to São Paulo, Brazil. The collision occurred around 11:30 AM during the aircraft's turnaround process, resulting in significant damage to the plane, although no injuries were reported. As a result of the incident, the scheduled flight LA8073 was canceled. In my expert opinion, incidents like this highlight the importance of stringent safety protocols and training in airport operations. While the damage to the aircraft is concerning, the absence of injuries is a positive outcome. This event underscores the need for effective communication between ground support teams and strict adherence to operational guidelines to minimize risks during aircraft servicing.
