Hennessey’s Venom F5-M Roadster is the most powerful manual production car *ever*
Published: September 10, 2024
Hennessey has introduced the Venom F5 Roadster 'M', which features a new six-speed open-gated manual transmission, making it the most powerful manual car globally. Only 12 units, all pre-sold at a price exceeding £2 million each, will be produced. Despite retaining the impressive specifications of the twin-turbo Fury V8 engine, the new gearing alters the power delivery, allowing full power access only from fourth gear onward for a more gradual acceleration experience. John Hennessey emphasizes that the manual transmission enhances the connection between the driver and the vehicle.
The redesign also includes a new dorsal fin for improved stability at high speeds, along with minor exterior and interior updates such as a revised gear stick and air vents. Although specific performance metrics are not disclosed, Hennessey mentioned a potential record attempt for top speed later this winter.
From a transportation perspective, Hennessey's approach highlights a growing trend towards high-performance, driver-focused vehicles that prioritize an engaging driving experience over mere speed metrics or lap times. This shift not only appeals to enthusiasts but also reflects a broader automotive industry desire to balance cutting-edge technology with traditional driving thrills, potentially influencing future designs across the sector.
