The commercial truck industry is facing challenges with the Environmental Protection Agency's Phase 3 greenhouse gas rule, which mandates a shift to electric vehicles. While there is a push for reducing emissions, the transition poses significant hurdles such as high costs, service delays, inadequate charging infrastructure, and limitations in vehicle capabilities. Until these issues are addressed, the widespread adoption of electric trucks may not be feasible within the given timeframe.
