Bombardier Global 7500 breaks Montreal-to-Paris record

Published: June 19, 2025
The Canadian aerospace company Bombardier has achieved notable success with its Global 7500 aircraft, which recently completed a transatlantic crossing in just 5 hours and 30 minutes, reaching speeds exceeding 1,000 kilometers per hour. This performance is significantly faster than commercial airlines, which typically take around seven hours for the same journey. Bombardier's President and CEO, Éric Martel, emphasized the aircraft's high performance in real-world conditions, including carrying passengers and cargo, highlighting its competitiveness in the market.

Following this accomplishment, the Global 7500 also set a record for the Paris-to-Montreal route by finishing the flight in under six hours and holds the record for the longest nonstop flight by a business jet from Sydney to Detroit. With a range of 7,700 nautical miles, the aircraft is designed for luxury with customizable interiors, a full-size kitchen, and spacious living areas.

In the context of the transportation sector, the advancements made by aircraft like the Global 7500 could drive competition in both the commercial and business aviation markets. The ability to reduce travel time not only enhances passenger experience but also impacts logistics and time-sensitive transport of goods. This shift towards faster and more efficient air travel could encourage more investment in aerospace technology and innovation, ultimately leading to a more dynamic aviation landscape.
