Norwegian vessel owner Solstad Offshore has signed a letter of intent (LoI) with client for its Normand Tonjer construction support vessel (CSV). The contract, valued at an undisclosed amount, will see the vessel operate in the Asia-Pacific region. The agreement includes a 225-day commitment period, including mobilization, with additional options available.
The start date is set for February 2026. The terms of the deal remain confidential between the parties involved. The Normand Tonjer CSV has been an integral part of its client's operations since 2018, supporting ocean bottom node (OBN) seismic projects.
Built in 2010, the vessel has a proven track record in the region. In December 2023, Solstad exercised its option to purchase back the vessel from Norwegian Mpsv for $4 million, acquired by Solstad in 2021. This move demonstrates Solstad's commitment to its fleet and its clients' needs.

The Normand Tonjer CSV will play a vital role in supporting the growing demand for OBN seismic operations in the Asia-Pacific region. With its extensive experience and capabilities, the vessel is well-positioned to deliver high-quality services to its client. The contract signing marks an important milestone for Solstad Offshore, solidifying its position as a leading player in the regional market.
As the industry continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how this agreement impacts the overall landscape of OBN seismic operations.
This contract is a testament to Solstad's ability to adapt to changing market demands and provide reliable support services to its clients. The vessel's extensive experience in the Asia-Pacific region will undoubtedly be an asset in meeting the growing needs of OBN seismic projects.
