Bourbon Expands Fleet with Record-Breaking Vessel Acquisition

The offshore services provider has made a significant move to bolster its position in the market by expanding its fleet with 13 vessels valued at over $180 million. This substantial investment is expected to have a positive impact on the company's financial health and growth prospects.

Bourbon's expansion includes the acquisition of six diesel-electric vessels from the Minsheng Group, comprising five platform supply vessels and one 80-ton bollard pull anchor handling tug supply vessel. The company has also reactivated two 80-ton diesel-electric AHTS vessels and taken delivery of a newbuild vessel designed for deepwater subsea operations.

The acquisition of these vessels reflects the growing demand for offshore support vessels, with ten of the new additions already under contract. This demonstrates the company's ability to capitalize on market trends and provide essential services to its customers.

Bourbon's Chief Executive, Gaël Bodénès, attributed the company's recent success to the transformation undertaken in early 2025 and the dedication of its teams. The momentum toward profitability and growth is a testament to the company's commitment to operational improvements and investment in modern vessels.

The company has also deployed two 27-meter crew boats delivered in late 2025, which began a five-year contract in February, supporting its operations in Africa. This expansion strengthens Bourbon's ability to provide offshore services across oil, gas and wind sectors.

Bourbon's financial health is restored with a cleansed Balance Sheet and reduced financial debt leverage below 1.5x EBITDA 2025 after these significant investments. The company continues to look for opportunities to sustain long-term growth.

The acquisition of new vessels has also enabled Bourbon to enhance its operational capabilities, further solidifying its position in the market. This strategic move is expected to have a positive impact on the company's bottom line and overall performance.

Bourbon's fleet expansion is a significant development in the offshore services sector, reflecting the growing demand for specialized vessels and equipment. The company's commitment to innovation and investment in modern vessels positions it well for future growth and success.

The expansion of Bourbon's fleet is expected to have far-reaching implications for the offshore services industry, with potential benefits including increased efficiency, reduced costs, and enhanced customer satisfaction.

As the demand for offshore support vessels continues to grow, companies like Bourbon are well-positioned to capitalize on this trend. The company's strategic investment in new vessels and operational capabilities positions it for long-term success and growth in the market.
