TT Racing Delayed Due to Road Traffic Incident

The Isle of Man TT has faced numerous challenges in recent years, from poor weather conditions to mechanical issues with the iconic racing bikes. However, a road traffic incident has now added a new layer of uncertainty to the event's schedule. The delay is expected to cause a one-hour delay to the start of Friday's triple-header, which includes the Senior TT race.

The delay was caused by a road traffic incident that occurred this morning ahead of the second Supersport TT race. Roads were due to begin closing at 9am BST, although that has now changed to 10am. The Full TT Mountain Course will now be closed off at 11am, before racing is due to start at 12:45pm.

The incident has caused a ripple effect throughout the event's schedule, with several races being rescheduled or postponed. Racing was initially set to begin last Saturday with the Superstock Race 1, which was eventually postponed until Tuesday of this week. However, despite efforts to reschedule, several races were ultimately removed from the line-up.

The latest delay is the first of its kind at the 2026 event, as previous race delays were caused by low clouds and poor weather. The TT's notoriously unpredictable weather conditions have become a hallmark of the event, with riders often facing challenging conditions on the iconic Mountain Course.

Despite the one-hour delay to today's action, all three races are still expected to be completed thanks to a breakthrough in the weather. Following the Supersport Race 2 will be the Sportbike Race 1 at 3:15pm, before the Senior TT gets underway at 5:15pm.

The Isle of Man TT is renowned for its thrilling racing action, with riders competing on some of the most challenging and scenic courses in the world. The event's unique combination of speed, skill, and bravery has made it a favorite among motorcycle enthusiasts and fans of the sport.

Overall, the one-hour delay to today's racing action is a minor setback compared to the challenges faced by the riders and teams at the Isle of Man TT. With all three races still expected to be completed, fans can look forward to an exciting and unpredictable day of motorcycle racing.
