Krone has expanded its forage harvesting portfolio with the launch of the Swativo T 1040 Pro, the company’s first-ever merger. This new machine is designed specifically for delicate leafy crops such as lucerne and clover, where preserving leaves during harvesting is crucial for maintaining high-quality forage.
The Swativo T 1040 Pro complements KRONE's existing rotary rake range, providing an alternative solution for crops where forage quality depends heavily on minimizing leaf loss. By offering a dedicated solution for these types of crops, KRONE aims to improve the overall efficiency and profitability of its customers' operations.
At the heart of the machine is KRONE’s new OptiSwath concept, which combines the company's EasyFlow pickup technology with a FlexFlow feed rotor and a 1.2m-wide cross conveyor belt. This system is designed to maintain a consistent crop flow while handling forage gently, resulting in uniform swaths and reduced losses.
The OptiSwath concept also features five rows of tines and rubber-coated guide rollers to improve ground following and protect the sward. Crop flow is further optimized through the hydraulically driven FlexFlow rotor, whose speed can be adjusted independently to suit varying crop conditions.
With a working width ranging from 8.4m to 10.4m, the Swativo T 1040 Pro is aimed at professional forage producers and contractors seeking high output without compromising forage quality. The machine's telescopic frame and reversible conveyor belts allow operators to create centre, side or twin swaths, providing flexibility across different harvesting systems.
Operator convenience is enhanced through full ISOBUS control, enabling all machine functions to be managed from the tractor terminal. Features such as automatic belt stop, stored crop profiles and optional Section Control further simplify operation and improve efficiency.
KRONE has also focused on transport and manoeuvrability, equipping the machine with mechanical forced steering, a steered axle, compressed-air braking and hydraulic folding for road transport. These features enable operators to efficiently navigate tight spaces and reduce downtime during transportation.
The Swativo T 1040 Pro requires approximately 120hp, marking KRONE's entry into the growing pickup rake segment. This dedicated solution is expected to cater to the needs of low-loss harvesting of high-value forage crops, providing a competitive advantage for farmers and contractors in this market.
The introduction of the Swativo T 1040 Pro marks a significant shift in KRONE's product portfolio, offering a dedicated solution for low-loss harvesting of high-value forage crops.
