Australian authorities have been cracking down on sophisticated drug smuggling schemes, with a focus on concealment methods that are becoming increasingly creative and complex. In the past year, the Australian Border Force (ABF) has intercepted various air, mail, and sea cargo consignments of illicit substances and precursors, including methamphetamine, cocaine, 1,4-butanediol, ketamine, MDMA, and heroin.

He stated that criminals are driven by greed and profit, but that the harm caused by these groups extends beyond individual users to violent and exploitative crimes and harm to the community.
