A severe ice storm recently swept through the United States, causing widespread damage to homes and businesses. The Geeslin Family Racing shop in Senatobia, Mississippi, was particularly hard hit when its roof caved in due to the heavy snowfall.
The shop, which doubled as the family's home, is stacked with priceless custom cars, including a Camaro Z/28-bodied Funny Car, a 1963 Chevy Corvette Pro Mod, and several others. As of Tuesday, the family was waiting for the weather to thaw before they could extract the precious metal from the damaged vehicles.
Casey Geeslin, owner of the shop, explained that some of the cars seemed fine while others were trashed, with his dad's Super Gas '33 Ford racecar taking the worst damage. Despite the setback, the racing community has been supportive, and the family is confident in their ability to repair the damage using their knowledge and connections.

The shop's structure was criticized by some, but Geeslin explained that it was never built to withstand the weather they got, and he and his team are mechanics who specialize in restoring cars for a living. As the situation develops, fans of the shop can follow along on Facebook to see how things progress.
The severity of the damage caused by this ice storm highlights the importance of building codes and structural integrity in extreme weather conditions. In this case, it's clear that the shop's design was not suitable for withstanding the heavy snowfall, and the family is fortunate to have escaped any major injuries.
