Teledyne Gavia, a leader in modular autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), announced the successful delivery of the first four GAVIA AUV systems to the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). The newly delivered GAVIA Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) system forms part of a multi-year framework agreement between Teledyne Marine and FMV, under which GAVIA AUVs will support fleet modernization initiatives for the Swedish Armed Forces by enhancing underwater surveillance capabilities and improving operational efficiency. The vehicles delivered under this agreement incorporate Teledyne’s modular architecture, enabling rapid reconfiguration for missions including mine countermeasures, hydrography, intelligence collection, seabed mapping, and surveillance.

This technology is expected to play a significant role in Sweden's efforts to enhance its naval capabilities and support its international security commitments. The Swedish Armed Forces have been actively seeking to modernize their fleet and upgrade their underwater capabilities to stay competitive in the region. Teledyne Marine has established itself as a key player in this effort, providing cutting-edge AUV systems that can be easily integrated into existing fleets.

With the delivery of these GAVIA AUVs, Sweden is taking an important step towards enhancing its maritime surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities. The GAVIA AUV system is designed to provide high-resolution data on underwater features such as seabed topography, water currents, and marine life. This information can be used to support a range of military operations, from mine countermeasures to intelligence collection and surveillance.
