The Jet On Wheels is a futuristic minivan concept from Genesis, designed to explore where the brand could go next, even if it never gets built. The concept vehicle pushes boundaries in design language, featuring a high-riding profile, aerodynamic silhouette, and SUV-like ground clearance.
With its sharply raked windshield, oversized alloy wheels, and sculpted tail section, the Jet On Wheels is an unconventional entry into the luxury minivan segment. Genesis's Chief Creative Officer, Luc Donckerwolke, revealed that the project was a styling exercise to tackle the typology of vehicle, showcasing the brand's capabilities and strengths.
The concept isn't just for show; it reflects the growing momentum in the luxury minivan market, particularly in China, where it has evolved into a status symbol for the elite. Genesis could potentially join the mix with an unconventional entry aimed at rivals like a possible Lexus LS-based flagship minivan and other premium-brand contenders.
Another interesting concept from the Genesis design studio is an SUV with a hydrogen fuel cell powertrain, which was eventually shelved but shows that Genesis once considered a hydrogen offering that could borrow technology from the Hyundai Nexo.
The Jet On Wheels concept showcases Genesis's willingness to push boundaries and explore new design directions. Its futuristic approach may not be for everyone, but it highlights the brand's capabilities in tackling unconventional vehicle types.
