For Corvette buyers who want a deeper connection with their car, beyond the drive and the badge, Chevrolet is reopening a rare hands-on opportunity. Starting in 2026, owners of new Corvette Z06, ZR1, or ZR1X models can participate in building their engine at the Performance Build Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
This experience, previously offered in past model years, allows customers to work alongside a master technician to assemble the engine destined for their car. The program is part of Chevrolet's Build Your Own Engine Experience, which has been revamped and rebranded for 2026.
Customers who opt-in by selecting RPO Code: PBC on their order will get behind-the-scenes access to the facility. The experience comes with a price tag, although details have not been confirmed.
Participants in the program won't leave empty-handed, as they'll receive a custom engine plaque, a photo commemorating their build session, and a unique gift. This hands-on opportunity offers a rare window into the car's DNA, even if it comes at a literal cost.
The program is designed to give owners a deeper appreciation for the Corvette's engineering and craftsmanship. By working alongside a master technician, participants can see firsthand how the engine is built and understand the attention to detail that goes into each Corvette.
The experience is a unique way for owners to connect with their car on a deeper level, and it's sure to be a hit with Corvette enthusiasts.
