Shawn Reed to Share His NHRA Top Fuel Ride with Ida Zetterström

NHRA's Shawn Reed Racing Top Fuel team will run the full 2026 Mission Foods Drag Racing Series schedule, but Reed and European drag racing champion Ida Zetterström will share driving duties for the Reed Trucking & Excavating Dragster. Reed, who made an impressive comeback last season after a high-speed qualifying accident at his home track cost him his left index finger, has opted to devote more time to his Seattle-based business. J.

Maynard's JCM Racing team. But she found herself without a ride when Joe Maynard told her last fall he is stepping back from team ownership. Reed will start the calendar with the season-opening Gatornationals and the NHRA Top Fuel All-Star Callout March 6-8 at Gainesville, Florida.

The schedule for the remaining 19 races will be announced later. Reed has earned his first NHRA victory at the first Countdown race last September, and he will continue to qualify well throughout the season. He said, 'Last year was one for the books, that's for sure.

Started with the PRO All-Star Shootout win. ' Reed needs to focus more of his time and attention on his business, which requires him to be back in Washington more often than their race schedule allows. Adding a second driver was the logical choice for Reed.

Ida Zetterström is a proven talent, and Reed is excited to see what she can do behind the wheel of their dragster. In an additional twist, Reed said he's flirting with the idea of fielding two dragsters someday. He hopes to put Ida in a second car at some point, but for now, she'll be pounding the pavement so that she can be behind the wheel of his car at as many events as possible.

J. have done for her and for the opportunity to race in the US these last two years. She values this highly, both for the sponsors and for her to have the best chance of advancing in the class.

This is a great step towards the future and the goal of finding enough partners to put together a full campaign and one day, run for a championship.
