With the elimination of federal EV tax credits, a sub-$20,000 list price is now unlikely, and Slate CEO Chris Barman has confirmed that the brand hasn't finalized its MSRP yet. Instead, Slate is taking a different approach to its product line, focusing on simplicity and affordability.
7 kWh battery pack, producing around 201 hp and 195 pound-feet of torque. While the base price is expected to be in the mid-twenties, options like the SUV conversion package could push prices over $30,000.
Despite this, Slate remains committed to making its electric pickup truck an affordable option for customers, with discussions ongoing about mass affordability. As the market responds to this new entrant, it will be interesting to see how consumers perceive the trade-offs between price and features.
