Feb 5, 20261 min readElectrek

Solid-state battery developer QuantumScape has officially inaugurated its new Eagle Line pilot production facility, marking a significant milestone in the company's efforts to scale up solid-state battery production. The Eagle Line is designed to produce cells that will support OEM customer sampling and demonstrate scalable solid-state cell production.

QuantumScape had previously announced its successful integration of its proprietary 'Cobra' solid-state separator process into baseline production in 2025, laying the groundwork for higher-volume B1 sample production of its QSE-5 solid-state lithium-metal cells. The company's President and CEO, Dr.

Siva Sivaram, emphasized the importance of the Eagle Line in meeting the growing demand for better batteries across various industries. With the Eagle Line ramping up, QuantumScape will produce QS solid-state battery cells that will be shipped to customers for sampling and testing, technology demonstrations, and product integration efforts.

The pilot line has also been activated to enable licensing partners to manufacture at a gigawatt-hour scale, while serving as a platform to develop and test further technology and process improvements at scale. QuantumScape's COO, Dr.

Luca Fasoli, praised the team's effort in making the Eagle Line a reality, highlighting its technical achievement and rapid scalability.
