PSA Marine of Singapore has taken delivery of the 16th boat from Robert Allan Ltd.'s Z-Tech 6000 design, the PSA Nebula. This latest addition joins seven other vessels of the same series operating successfully in the company's fleet across various ports. The PSA Nebula is part of a larger fleet of over 100 award-winning tugboats designed by Robert Allan Ltd., which are now serving with numerous operators worldwide.
The PSA Gemini, delivered in 2024, was the first boat from the Z-Tech 6000 series to be handed over to PSA Marine. It marked the beginning of an expansion that has seen the company take delivery of a total of 61 tugs designed by Robert Allan Ltd., including 32 Z-Tech tugs.
PSA Marine's latest fleet addition is equipped with Niigata 6L28HX medium speed engines, which provide a bollard pull of 63.6 tons and a top speed of 12.4 knots on trials. This impressive performance enables the vessel to efficiently assist vessels ranging from containerships to low freeboard barges.
The PSA Nebula boasts MLC compliant accommodations for a crew of ten, providing a safe working environment for its personnel. The vessel's design also takes into account specific local operations with varied deck equipment, crew complement, propulsion equipment, bollard pull, and fire-fighting capabilities.
