The logistics industry has seen a significant shift towards complex freight, with open-deck, heavy-haul, and oversized equipment requiring more planning than standard truckload shipments. This increased complexity can lead to longer quote times and reduced margins for brokers. To address this challenge, Truckstop.com is acquiring Wize Load, a provider of heavy-haul rate-intelligence tools.
The acquisition marks another step in Truckstop's expansion into freight that requires more planning and specialized equipment. By bringing lane data, permit rules, and equipment requirements together in one place, Truckstop Heavy Haul Rates aims to provide brokers with a faster way to estimate pricing for complex shipments.
This technology is built on top of the company's existing efforts in this space, including the launch of the Truckstop Heavy Haul Load Board in January. The load board connects carriers running open deck, flatbed, and specialized equipment to loads built for complex moves. With the addition of Heavy Haul Rates, Truckstop.com is further solidifying its position as a leader in freight technology.

The new platform will provide pricing intelligence designed specifically for oversized, overdimensional, and permit-required freight. This will enable brokers to quote faster and move specialized shipments with confidence, knowing they have access to the most up-to-date data on lane conditions, permits, and equipment requirements.
According to Scott Moscrip, founder and CEO of Truckstop.com, the company is 'doubling down' on technology built for heavy haul, oversized, and overdimensional freight. This investment reflects the growing demand for complex freight solutions in the industry.
