Ferrari is taking a gamble with its all-electric Luce, launching it at a time when EV sales have contracted in the US.
This could prove to be a hard sell for the brand as competition from China offers supercar-levels of power at a fraction of the cost.
The final price of the Luce is yet to be locked in and could be adjusted 10 percent in either direction from the reported €550,000 mark.

If true, this would make the Luce more expensive than even the 849 Testarossa and 12Cilindri, and would be Ferrari's second-most expensive series production model after the F80 hypercar.
The high price tag could limit the Luce's appeal, particularly since Ferrari's customers are used to buying models from the Italian marque with sizzling internal combustion engines, not heavy battery packs and electric motors.
However, loyal Ferrari customers may not care about the cost and could be fixated on buying one anyway due to their affinity for the brand.

The Luce will feature four electric motors delivering over 986 hp and a 122 kWh battery pack supporting charging speeds of up to 350 kW.
This would make it one of the priciest EVs on the market, costing way more than anything sold by Porsche and even more than the Rolls-Royce Spectre.
The Luce's quad motors will provide exceptional performance and driving range, but its high price may be a barrier for some potential buyers.

The high price of the Luce may limit its appeal among customers who prefer traditional gasoline-powered vehicles.
