The Skoda Epiq is the electric SUV for those who want small cars with big interiors and don't want to pay a premium for switching from combustion powertrain to electric. With a length of just under 4,200 mm and a wheelbase of 2,601 mm, it's in city-friendly crossover territory.
Skoda claims its packaging magic gives it one of the biggest boots in its class, with 475 liters of cargo space and 1,344 liters when seats are folded. The Epiq is on Skoda's new MEB Plus platform, a cost-focused evolution of the VW Group's electric toolkit.
It's front-wheel drive, which helps free up cabin and cargo space. 5 kWh LFP battery for up to 196 miles of range.
8 seconds, while the top-of-the-line Epiq 55 has 208 hp and a larger 55 kWh NMC battery good for up to 267 miles of range. Charging peaks at up to 133 kW on the bigger battery, making it more road trip capable than expected.
The interior features Skoda's usual Simply Clever touches, including a 13-inch central screen and lots of recycled materials. Prices are expected to start at $26,000, matching those of the combustion Kamiq.
