Mercedes-AMG has taken steps to rectify its earlier decision by reintroducing the six-cylinder engine in the new 2027 GLC53 model, which is set to revive a fan favorite compact performance SUV. 0-liter engine and the latter featuring a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines for 671 horses.
0-liter straight-six engine that produces 443 horsepower and up to 472 pound-feet of torque. This updated engine is accompanied by various upgrades, including a new cylinder head, intake camshaft, intercooler, and an improved exhaust system.
The GLC53 also boasts a nine-speed automatic transmission with an integrated starter-generator, as well as the standard 4Matic+ all-wheel drive. 1 seconds and a top speed of 167 mph.
The new GLC53 is set to go on sale in the second half of this year, with pricing expected to start around $70,000 for the SUV version and at least $75,000 for the Coupe model.
