Onvo's upcoming L80 five-seat SUV to mirror Nio's strategy with in-house developed chip integration.
Nio Inc's sub-brand Onvo will offer both LiDAR and pure vision versions of its upcoming L80 five-seat sport utility vehicle (SUV).
The LiDAR version of the L80 will be equipped with Nio's in-house developed Shenji NX9031 driver assistance system chip and the Nio World Model (NWM) assisted driving system.

The pure vision version of the large five-seat SUV will be powered by Nvidia's Orin X chip.
Onvo announced its strategy on Monday, continuing the approach seen on the updated L90.
The technological path Onvo has taken with the L80 is consistent with its approach to the three-row L90 SUV.

Nio Inc rolled out its new NWM assisted driving software to users of its main Nio brand in late January, bringing a significantly optimized smart driving experience.
In February, Nio saw the mileage driven using smart assisted driving surpass 200 million kilometers, a massive 81.5% increase compared to January.
The Onvo L80 offers up to 2,840 liters of total storage space, claiming to be the five-seat SUV with the largest loading capacity in China.

The integration of Shenji NX9031 chip and NWM assisted driving system will provide a leading smart experience for Onvo L80 users.
