A test drive at Performance Luxury Sport in Ohio took a dark turn when the driver allegedly told the female sales associate to behave like a 'good girl' during a Jeep Wrangler test drive. The man, Todd Marrs, had requested the test drive despite the dealership primarily focusing on high-end cars from BMW, Bentley, Mercedes, and McLaren.
During the ride, Marrs took an unusual route before stopping in a warehouse parking lot for around five minutes. The salesperson eventually tried to return him to the dealership, but he allegedly became aggressive, taking her phone and throwing it on the floor.
He then proceeded to run errands with the saleswoman and her friend in tow. In the aftermath of the incident, Marrs was indicted for abduction and disrupting public services.
The specific charges and potential penalties are unclear, but they could include up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. As one expert notes, this incident highlights the importance of prioritizing safety during test drives and being aware of one's surroundings.
It is also essential for sales associates to trust their instincts and report any suspicious behavior promptly. The case serves as a reminder that even seemingly innocuous situations can escalate quickly into serious issues.
This incident underscores the need for individuals to respect boundaries and prioritize consent in all interactions, including those during test drives. Sales associates should never feel pressured or coerced into engaging with someone who is behaving erratically or aggressively.
