Ram is reportedly working on a full-size SUV that will revive the iconic Ramcharger nameplate. The new vehicle is expected to be based on the Jeep Grand Wagoneer but with distinct Ram-specific styling.
This all-new addition to the Ram lineup promises to offer three spacious rows of seats, luxurious interior trimmings, and impressive towing capacity. Sharing its platform with the Jeep, the Ramcharger SUV will likely feature a 420-hp turbocharged inline-six engine as standard, although higher-powered variants may also be available.
A plug-in hybrid model is not out of the question, given that Jeep plans to introduce such powertrains on the Grand Wagoneer Hybrid. With its expected release in 2028, Ram's full-size SUV is poised to capture the attention of both enthusiasts and families alike.
As a nod to its heritage, the Ramcharger will likely be offered in similar trims as the 1500 pickup truck and have styling that differentiates it from the Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Pricing is still uncertain but may start at around $65,000, with top models reaching upwards of $100,000.
The inclusion of a supercharged Hemi V-8 engine could be a game-changer for Ram fans, offering an SUV alternative to the Ram 1500 SRT TRX pickup truck. With its impressive capabilities and luxurious features, the Ramcharger is sure to be a model worth waiting for.
Given Ram's history of innovation and bold design choices, it's likely that the Ramcharger will push the boundaries of what we expect from a full-size SUV. The inclusion of advanced technology and premium materials will undoubtedly make this vehicle a standout in its class.
