RV Industry Urges Support for National Parks and Public Lands

The RV Industry Association (RVIA) has launched a critical advocacy initiative to protect the national parks and public lands that its customers love. As the RV industry prepares for a busy season of travel, RVIA is calling on every manufacturer, supplier, dealer, and campground to raise their voice in support of the America the Beautiful Act.

The issue at hand is a $40 billion maintenance backlog on our public lands, which was largely built in the 1950s and 60s. This infrastructure is deteriorating at scale, and without action, the Legacy Restoration Fund will lie dormant, repairs will become more expensive, and the outdoor spaces that drive our industry will continue to crumble.

RVIA's advocacy initiative aims to reauthorize the Legacy Restoration Fund for 8 years, extending its impact through 2033. The association also seeks to increase annual funding from $1.9 billion to $2 billion.

By supporting the America the Beautiful Act, RVIA is advocating for a proven economic engine that yields approximately $8 billion in value to the U.S. economy. For the RV industry, this is about more than just maintaining public lands and access; it is about the customer experience.

The RV industry's participation is critical in ensuring the great outdoors remains accessible and safe for future generations. By reauthorizing the Legacy Restoration Fund and increasing annual funding, we can maximize every dollar and prioritize projects with a 15 percent stakeholder match.

RVIA is working directly with its members, as well as dealer and campground associations, to advocate for the bipartisan legislation. The association has also launched a separate petition in Congressman Rudy Yakym's District, asking constituents to add their name in support of the America the Beautiful Act.

The RV industry's voice matters in this critical advocacy effort. By participating, we can protect the future of the RV lifestyle and ensure that our customers continue to enjoy access to our national parks and public lands.

As the RV industry prepares for a busy season of travel, it is essential that we come together to support this critical initiative. Every manufacturer, supplier, dealer, and campground has a role to play in protecting the great outdoors and ensuring its accessibility for future generations.
