BMW Unveils Vision ALPINA: Speed and Refined Sophistication

BMW has unveiled its latest design study, the Vision BMW ALPINA, which heralds a new era for the iconic brand. The unveiling took place at the 2026 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, marking an exciting milestone in the evolution of Alpina's identity.

The Vision BMW ALPINA is a masterful interpretation of the brand's heritage, blending contemporary creative instincts with timeless design principles. This design study showcases Alpina's unique blend of speed and comfort, redefining the brand's essence for the modern era.

At 5,200 mm in length, the Vision BMW ALPINA exudes confidence and presence, with a wide, low stance that immediately conveys its powerful V8 engine. The coupé roofline is long and raked, accommodating four adults in genuine comfort while signaling speed.

The design team has distilled every element of the brand to its essence, applying modernity and sophistication in a deeply nuanced way. Every detail reflects substance, from engineering to materials, and tells a story that rewards attention on closer inspection.

A key feature of the Vision BMW ALPINA is its powerful front end, characterized by voluminous volumes and a forward-leaning stance that promises speed without overstatement. The shark nose reinterprets the kidney grille as a three-dimensional sculpture, framing the brand emblem with quiet confidence.

The exterior design is organized around a single visual axis: the speed feature line, which rises from the lower front corners at a six-degree inclination. This line runs along the side of the body and wraps around the rear, suggesting motion without overstatement.

Subtle secondary details reward attention without demanding it, reflecting Alpina's 'Second Read' principle. Deco-lines have been part of the brand's language since 1974, now modernized and painted on the side of the body beneath the clear coat.

Inward-facing return surfaces are treated with particular care, finished in a dark metallic tone that rewards closer inspection. This approach is inspired by the BMW 507, which uses chrome only on the inside.

The Vision BMW ALPINA represents a new chapter for Alpina, emphasizing speed, comfort, and sophistication while maintaining the brand's unique identity.
