The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has taken a major step forward in its efforts to establish itself as a leading player in the global logistics industry. Medlog, the inland logistics arm of MSC Group, has officially opened Medlog 1, an integrated logistics park in Dammam that promises to reshape the country's supply chain landscape.

The new facility, situated at King Abdulaziz Port, covers over 25 acres and boasts an annual handling capacity exceeding 300,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs). This significant capacity will enable Medlog to serve as a crucial link between the port on the eastern coast and Saudi Arabia's central and western regions.

By creating this inland freight corridor, Medlog is effectively expanding the country's multimodal transportation network. This move is expected to have a positive impact on the Kingdom's economy, particularly in terms of economic diversification and job creation.

The logistics park offers a comprehensive range of integrated logistics services, including container handling, storage, eco-friendly cleaning, repair, port shuttling, and inventory management. It also provides reefer and ISO/flexi tank services that include cleaning, repair, inspection, and food-grade tanker support.

Medlog 1 is committed to the use of advanced technologies such as GPS-enabled trucking and alternative energy sources. This commitment to innovation will enable the facility to provide even more efficient and sustainable logistics solutions to its customers.

The strategic location near Jubail Industrial City and major urban centers provides access to integrated road, rail, and port links. This proximity will enable Medlog to offer value-added services such as cross-docking, packaging, and labeling.

Medlog's expansion is part of the company's broader commitment to Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 blueprint. The facility is expected to create over 400 direct and indirect job opportunities, contributing to the growth of a robust local workforce in the logistics sector.

The opening of Medlog 1 marks an important milestone for Medlog, which operates in more than 90 countries as a specialist in intermodal transportation solutions, inland container yard operations, and value-added services. With this new facility, Medlog is well-positioned to deliver unmatched solutions and value to its customers in the region.

The launch of Medlog 1 will also have significant implications for Saudi Arabia's global competitive advantage and sustainable economic growth. As a strategic corridor with access to rapidly growing markets across three major continents, the Kingdom is poised to capitalize on the increasing demand for logistics services.
