Tristan Ciceri, president of Electrical Works, has been officially named to the National Electric Code's (NEC) Code-Making Panel 7 (NEC-P07), representing RV parks, campgrounds and glamping businesses in the Outdoor Hospitality Industry. OHI, a trade association for the industry, has historically nominated a person closely related to campground electrical issues to represent their interests on the NEC board.

The NEC is responsible for overseeing RV parks, campgrounds, marinas and manufactured homes, making Ciceri's appointment crucial for ensuring the safety of electrical systems in these establishments. Electrical Works, a family-owned electrical contracting company, specializes in designing and constructing new development and rewiring existing electrical systems nationwide in the outdoor hospitality industry.

Ciceri's predecessor, Wade Elliott, founder of Utility Supply Group, served more than a decade on the NEC board before retiring last year. Upon Elliott's announcement, OHI nominated Ciceri to fill the vacant seat.

OHI has been vocal about the importance of addressing the Ground Monitor Interrupters (GMI) issue in new RVs, which are set to become standard equipment next year. The company believes that industry representation on the NEC is essential for educating the public about this critical safety concern.

Ciceri expressed his gratitude to OHI for nominating him and emphasized the significance of having a representative on the NEC during a time when GMI issues are becoming increasingly prevalent in new RVs.

As the outdoor hospitality industry continues to evolve, it's essential that electrical system safety remains a top priority. Ciceri's appointment highlights the importance of collaboration between trade associations, manufacturers and regulatory bodies in ensuring public safety.

Ciceri will be representing the Outdoor Hospitality Industry at the RV Industry Association's (RVIA) RVs Move America event in Washington, D.C., where he will also present on the GMI issue to the Campground Association Management Professionals (CAMP) group.

The RVIA and OHI have been working together to educate the outdoor hospitality industry about the GMI issue, which could cause disruption at campsites if not addressed properly.

For those affected by the GMI issue, it's essential to stay informed and take proactive steps to ensure electrical system safety in their parks. s recommend reaching out to OHI for guidance on this matter.

Ciceri's appointment marks a significant step forward for the outdoor hospitality industry in addressing the GMI issue and promoting electrical system safety nationwide.

The NEC-P07 plays a critical role in shaping the standards for RV parks, campgrounds and glamping businesses, making Ciceri's involvement crucial for ensuring that these establishments prioritize electrical system safety.
