BMW M2 with M xDrive: Agile Handling and Unadulterated Driving Pleasure

BMW M GmbH is expanding the breadth of the M2 model line-up with the introduction of the all-wheel-drive system M xDrive. The new BMW M2 with M xDrive combines extremely agile handling, M-typical performance and compact dimensions to deliver a driving experience like no other.

The M xDrive system splits the power developed by the 353 kW/480 hp six-cylinder in-line engine with BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology between the front and rear axles according to the situation at hand. This allows for fully variable and super-smooth division of the engine's power, ensuring superior traction and enhanced dynamics.

The Active M Differential distributes drive fully variably between the rear wheels as required, maximising traction and delivering the driving dynamics normally associated with a rear-wheel drive model. This results in increased agility, dynamism and directional stability, making the car suitable for all seasons and road conditions.

The new BMW M2 with M xDrive showcases its optimised traction with sublime assurance in fluctuating grip conditions such as ice and snow as well as on the track. The market launch of the BMW M2 with M xDrive will begin in late summer 2026, offering drivers a unique driving experience.

The M xDrive system's responses can be configured via the M driver's package, allowing for further personalisation of the driving experience. This includes options such as M-specific traction control and DSC (Dynamic Stability Control).

The transfer case features a model-specific control unit and integrated wheel slip limitation, making it possible to compensate for any differences in rotational speed between the front and rear wheels without involving the central DSC management.

This approach allows for extremely quick response times and further intensifies the M-typical sense of unshakable poise in highly dynamic driving situations. The result is a driving experience that is both exhilarating and stable.

The new BMW M2 with M xDrive represents a significant step forward in terms of driving dynamics and traction, offering drivers the ultimate expression of unadulterated driving pleasure.

With its unique combination of agility, performance and compact dimensions, the BMW M2 with M xDrive is set to become a benchmark for high-performance sports cars.
