Steelwrist's New Tiltrotor Technology Boosts Precision

Steelwrist's new XTR tiltrotor range features an expanded hydraulic system that delivers improved precision and control. The company's patented SuperProp technology completes the technology foundation for the third-generation tiltrotators.

The SuperProp technology was developed to address common issues in conventional hydraulic systems, such as reduced control precision and energy loss. By maintaining precise and independent control of the tiltrotator functions, even when system pressure varies, SuperProp helps operators achieve smooth, predictable, and responsive movement.

Traditional tiltrotor systems often struggle with variations in pressure affecting flow through proportional valves, which can reduce control precision and make combined movements more difficult to operate smoothly. The patented technology uses fully pressure-compensated proportional control to address this challenge.

The integration of SuperProp into the XTR series is a significant step forward for tiltrotator design. By addressing issues with energy loss and improving hydraulic system efficiency, Steelwrist aims to provide operators with improved operating efficiency and reduced fuel consumption.

SuperProp also enables all tiltrotator functions to work independently of each other, supporting demanding applications where both tool performance and tiltrotator precision are required. The system is designed for high auxiliary circuit capacity, making it possible to operate powered work tools efficiently without compromising tiltrotator control.

The redesigned swivel in the XTR tiltrotators ensures full flow capacity below the tiltrotator, while the larger port dimensions support full 350 bar machine pressure and up to 200 l/min hydraulic flow. This enables the system to deliver full flow to tools while maintaining full tiltrotator performance.

Steelwrist's new XTR tiltrotor range will be available during the third quarter of 2026 on XTR10 to XTR23 models. The SuperProp technology is expected to provide significant benefits for operators in demanding applications, including improved precision and control.

The integration of SuperProp into the XTR series represents a major advancement in tiltrotator design and technology. By reducing energy loss and improving hydraulic system efficiency, Steelwrist aims to set a new standard for tiltrotor performance and efficiency.

Operators can expect improved operating efficiency and reduced fuel consumption with the introduction of SuperProp technology in the XTR series. The benefits of this technology are expected to be significant, particularly in demanding applications where both tool performance and tiltrotator precision are required.
