Jaguar has been at the forefront of its all-electric transformation since early 2025, with the unveiling of its Type 00 concept and a commitment to an electric-only future. However, recent reports from British newspaper The Times of London have sparked controversy by suggesting that Jaguar may be reconsidering its plans for all-electric vehicles in favor of hybrid options.

According to internal sources at Jaguar Land Rover, the company is exploring the development of a range-extended electric vehicle model capable of up to 621 miles without stopping. However, Jaguar has vehemently denied these claims, reaffirming its commitment to an electric-only luxury automotive brand.

The company's plans for three new high-performance EVs, set to arrive in 2026 and 2030, remain unchanged. With the first model expected to be a four-door grand tourer with an estimated EPA-rated range of 400 miles, Jaguar is poised to establish itself as a major player in the electric vehicle market.

The company's decision to abandon hybrid options for all-electric vehicles is part of its broader strategy to compete more closely with luxury brands like Bentley, offering a battery-electric alternative to their offerings. As Jaguar continues to move forward with its all-electric plans, it remains to be seen how this shift will impact the company's production and sales strategies.

EazyInWay Expert Take

It's not surprising that Jaguar is pushing back against these reports, given the significant investment they've made in their electric vehicle program. The company's commitment to an all-electric future is a key part of its strategy for competing with luxury brands like Bentley. With three new high-performance EVs on the horizon, it's clear that Jaguar is committed to making a splash in the electric vehicle market.
