A Turo-rented Porsche Cayenne was involved in a high-speed chase with an Arkansas state trooper on December 18, 2025. The driver, identified as Kenneth Burton, allegedly reached speeds of over 170 mph while attempting to evade the trooper's traffic stop.

The incident began when Trooper Killian observed the white SUV with Texas plates traveling at approximately 94 mph in a 75-mph zone. After initiating a traffic stop, Burton admitted he did not have a valid driver’s license and presented an identification card identifying him as Kenneth Burton.

He claimed the Porsche had been rented through Turo and was returning from Pine Bluff after attending a funeral. However, no obituary or funeral materials were visible inside the vehicle.

When asked to exit the car, Burton sped away, prompting the police to call off the pursuit. Several hours later, Hot Spring County deputies spotted the same Porsche on State Highway 84, and authorities reported seeing Burton exit the vehicle and enter a blue passenger car with Arkansas plates.

That vehicle was stopped shortly afterward, leading to both occupants being taken into custody without incident. Burton is now facing charges of felony fleeing, reckless driving, speeding more than 15 mph over the limit, unauthorized use of a communication device, and unauthorized property.

EazyInWay Expert Take

This incident highlights the importance of verifying rental information and ensuring drivers have valid licenses before allowing them to operate high-performance vehicles like the Porsche Cayenne. The fact that Burton was able to evade law enforcement for several hours suggests that there may be gaps in the system that need to be addressed.
