The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a list of weekly vehicular recalls affecting various types of recreational vehicles and school buses. These recalls are aimed at addressing safety concerns related to wiring, seating, and door mechanisms in several models from prominent manufacturers such as Gulf Stream Coach Inc., Forest River Inc., Forest River Bus LLC, Newmar Corporation, Winnebago Industries Inc., and Keystone RV Company.

The first recall affects certain 2026 Trail Boss and Ameri-Lite trailers manufactured by Gulf Stream Coach Inc. The issue lies in the taillight harness wires, which may be reversed, causing turn signals to function incorrectly. This failure to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108 results in a non-compliant vehicle.

Forest River Inc. has issued two recalls: one for certain 2026 Freelander motorhomes and another that affects multiple models of travel trailers, including the Work and Play, East to West Takoda, Coachmen Chaparral, Shasta Phoenix, Forest River Riverstone, Coachmen Adrenaline, and Cedar Creek fifth wheel travel trailers. In both cases, the issue revolves around a potential breakaway of the ramp door during loading or unloading.

Forest River Bus LLC has issued a recall for certain 2025-2026 Trans Tech school buses due to an excessive rear Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) caused by a modified seating floor plan. This non-compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 120 results in a safety concern.

Newmar Corporation and Winnebago Industries Inc. have issued recalls for certain motorhomes equipped with a ThermaHeat Tank Pad, which may experience high resistance and fail due to the water tank heating pad malfunctioning.

Keystone RV Company has also issued a recall for certain travel trailers, including the Fuzion, Raptor, Redwood, and Voltage models, where the ramp door may break away from the door frame during loading or unloading. This issue is addressed by Forest River's recall number 51-2017.

These recalls highlight the importance of adhering to safety standards and regulations in the recreational vehicle industry. By addressing these issues promptly, manufacturers can prevent potential accidents and ensure a safer driving experience for consumers.
