Ford's F-series trucks are the bestselling vehicles in the United States, with the Super Duty being a popular choice for those seeking more capability from their pickup. The 2027 model year brings several updates to the Super Duty lineup, expanding the availability of desirable packages and trims to more variants of the heavy-duty truck.

The Tremor badge, previously available on select models, is now offered on a wider range of configurations, including the XL trim with the STX Appearance package. This upgrade adds 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, a lifted suspension, an electronic locking rear differential, skid plates, Trail Control, and a Rock Crawl mode.

The Tremor package can now be paired with crew-cab models featuring the eight-foot cargo bed, something customers have been requesting. Ford's efforts to cater to this demand demonstrate its understanding of customer needs in the heavy-duty truck market.

In addition to the Tremor package, the XL variant has gained a model-specific Off-Road package in 2023 that eschews the Tremor's decals and adds 33-inch tires, an electronic locking rear diff, and skid plates for $995. However, customers have expressed a need for even more ground clearance.

To address this requirement, Ford is launching the XL Off-Road 35-Inch Tire package, which adds chunkier rubber, a taller ride height, a limited-slip front diff, an electronic locking rear diff, upgraded dampers, Trail Control, Trail Turn Assist, Rock Crawl mode, and skid plates for the transfer case and fuel tank.

The new package is designed to provide customers with more ground clearance while maintaining the capabilities of the Off-Road package. This expansion demonstrates Ford's commitment to delivering solutions that meet customer demands in the heavy-duty truck market.

Furthermore, Ford has announced that the top-of-the-line Platinum trim can now be paired with F-550 chassis cab. This upgrade allows customers to make their upfitted F-550s more luxurious, catering to a specific segment of the market.

The 2027 Super Duty lineup is expected to open order books in May, with pricing for these packages expected to be announced closer to the on-sale date. Ford's efforts to expand its offerings and cater to diverse customer needs position the Super Duty as a strong competitor in the heavy-duty truck market.

Overall, the expansion of the Tremor package and the introduction of the XL Off-Road 35-Inch Tire package demonstrate Ford's focus on delivering solutions that meet customer demands. As the heavy-duty truck market continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how these updates impact sales and customer satisfaction.
