Genesis, a luxury vehicle brand, has been working on a secret electric pickup truck project. The design was crafted by the brand's designers specifically for the American market, where trucks like the Ford F-Series dominate.

' but it was later set aside because they had to focus on other projects. New images reveal detailed sketches and nearly complete models that share the off-road styling with the X Gran Equator Concept.

The electric pickup featured a body-on-frame construction for improved off-road capability unlike its other vehicles with a monocoque chassis. Although the project was shelved, it is suggested that Genesis may reveal a concept based on the design in the near future.

With several new vehicles arriving over the next few years, Genesis has its hands full, including the introduction of its first high-performance vehicle, the GV60 Magma, and the flagship GV90 SUV expected to launch by the end of 2026. A luxury off-road SUV based on the X Gran Equator Concept is also expected to arrive in 2027.

The question remains whether Genesis will revisit 'the pickup' project and bring it to life.

EazyInWay Expert Take

If Genesis decides to revive the electric pickup project, it would be a significant move in the luxury vehicle market, potentially competing with Tesla's Cybertruck. However, given the brand's current focus on other projects, it remains uncertain whether 'the pickup' will see the light of day.
