The WattEV truck charging depot in San Bernardino, California has recently expanded its EV charger array to support up to 200 electric semi-truck charging cycles per day. This upgrade enables the site to charge megawatt-capable trucks, which can power up their massive batteries in record time.
The depot's new megawatt charging capability is a significant improvement over its previous capacity, allowing it to serve daily truck volumes similar to what a traditional diesel truck stop can handle. WattEV CEO Salim Youssefzadeh attributes the expansion to the company's vertically integrated approach, which has driven measurable results and created the need for more than doubling the site's capacity.
2 MW MCS ports added to its previous count of 24 CCS ports. This expansion further adds to WattEV's value proposition as a turn-key solution for local carriers and logistics fleets.

With the addition of 30 new CCS connectors and six MCS connectors, the site has significantly increased throughput and future-proofed itself for next-generation electric trucks. The company plans to continue expanding its network throughout 2026, with the current stretch covering the Port of Long Beach to San Bernardino and north to Bakersfield.
WattEV's vertically integrated approach is what truly sets it apart in the charging and fleet electrification sector. This model has driven measurable results, creating a need for more than doubling the site's capacity.
With this expansion, WattEV is well-positioned to support real-world fleet growth with reliable charging, dependable operations, and infrastructure designed for long-term commercial deployment.
This expansion highlights the growing importance of electric semi-truck charging infrastructure in the US. As the demand for sustainable transportation solutions continues to rise, companies like WattEV are playing a critical role in enabling the adoption of zero-emissions trucks. With its vertically integrated approach and commitment to expanding its network, WattEV is well-positioned to become a leader in the EV charging sector.
