Australian YouTuber Nathan Paykin has transformed a 2006 Suzuki Swift into a drivable, adult-sized tribute to the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe, complete with a working flamethrower. The build started with a 20-year-old Suzuki Swift, which was reportedly picked up for just AU$500 (around US$350).
From there, things escalated as the team cut the subcompact hatchback clean in half, removing the rear doors and most of the central section in the process. The resulting microcar has a chopped wheelbase, side-exit flamethrower, and just enough room for two occupants.
The bodywork was given a plastic-like texture to mimic the toy's look, while the steel wheels were repainted white. For an extra dose of absurdity, the exhaust was relocated to the side.
Paykin explained that the process involved hours of cutting, grinding, welding, bogging, and painting, with the intent being to resurrect childhood joy in full-size, flame-spitting form. The end result is a comically tiny microcar with extreme proportions, leading to spontaneous 'stoppies' under braking.
Handling is not refined, and the cabin barely fits two occupants and their gear. Paykin dubbed the creation 'Suzuki Sui,' a nod to the missing midsection of the original Swift.
This project showcases the creativity and ingenuity of car enthusiasts who dare to push the boundaries of automotive design. However, it's essential to consider safety implications when modifying vehicles in such extreme ways.
