Mercedes-AMG is investing heavily in electrification with three new bespoke EVs slated for release in the coming years. The first model will be an all-electric AMG GT four-door, followed by a high-powered electric SUV expected to produce over 1,000 hp.
A coupe version of this SUV is already in development and should break cover by late 2027. The models will feature advanced Yasa axial flux motors delivering well over 1,000 hp.
Mercedes-AMG's third dedicated EV will be based on the bespoke AMG EA architecture. Both two- and three-motor versions are expected, with the range-topping potentially producing as much as 1,341 hp.
The models will add fake ICE soundtracks to their electric models, as well as simulated shifts. The SUV-coupe is expected to have a low-slung shape similar to a Lamborghini Urus or Ferrari Purosangue.
AMG's goal is to make these models exciting and enjoyable to drive, possibly by matching the driving experience of its traditional V8s. However, it remains to be seen whether these electric models can match the performance of their combustion-powered counterparts.
The company's investment in electrification is a significant shift in its strategy, with a focus on performance and innovation.

As the automotive industry continues to evolve towards electrification, Mercedes-AMG's commitment to performance and innovation will be crucial in shaping the future of electric vehicles. With three new bespoke EVs on the horizon, AMG is poised to make a significant impact in the market.
