BMW is working to create an electric M3 that not only meets the needs of driving enthusiasts but also delivers a sound experience reminiscent of its legendary gas-powered predecessors. The first BMW M Neue Klasse EV, expected to be produced in 2027, will feature bespoke engineering and a unique sound design.
To achieve this, engineers have been analyzing the exhaust vocals of iconic M cars, including the E63 M6, E92 M3 GTS, and F82 M4 GTS, and combining them with real sounds from the EV's motors. BMW has also confirmed that the electric M3 will charge fast, thanks to an 800-volt architecture, and have a battery capacity exceeding 100 kWh using M-specific cells.
