Kia has officially launched the Seltos hybrid in South Korea, marking a significant step towards its electrification plans. The move is seen as a precursor to the brand's electric vehicle (EV) expansion, with speculation surrounding an eventual EV version of the popular SUV.
13 million vehicles sold last year, Kia credits its growing EV lineup, including the EV3, for the record-breaking sales. The company has no plans to slow down in 2026, with new hybrid powertrains and electric models rolling out across global markets.

The company's plans to bring the EV3 to the US at some point in 2026 have also been confirmed, with an expected starting price of around $35,000 to $40,000.
As Kia continues to expand its electrification efforts, it's clear that hybrid models like the Seltos will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between traditional gasoline-powered vehicles and fully electric alternatives. With the EV3 expected to arrive in the US later this year, the Seltos Hybrid offers an attractive compromise for those looking for a more environmentally friendly option without committing to an all-electric vehicle.
