The 2026 Lexus ES EV is the latest addition to the iconic luxury sedan lineup, boasting an electric variant that promises to enhance the car's renowned quiet and comfort-oriented personality. With its sharp, contemporary bodywork, the ES EV delivers a unique blend of style and functionality, setting it apart from its conventional hybrid counterpart.

This year marks the first time Lexus has ventured into the world of electric propulsion, and the results are impressive. The new platform not only increases interior space but also reduces cabin noise and improves ride comfort, making the ES EV an attractive option for those seeking a luxurious driving experience.

Lexus is offering two versions of the ES EV: the entry-level ES350e with front-wheel drive and less powerful electric powertrain, and the pricier ES500e trim with all-wheel drive. Both models will be available in Premium and Luxury trims, with an Executive package added to the ES350e Luxury for enhanced chauffeur features.

The ES EV boasts two electric powertrains, with the 350e delivering 220 horsepower to the front wheels and the 500e sending 338 horsepower to all four wheels via a torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system. This significant increase in power will undoubtedly enhance the car's performance and agility.

Lexus claims that the ES EV can reach 60 mph from a standstill in just 7.7 seconds, with the all-wheel drive ES500e improving on that time to 5.4 seconds. While these numbers are impressive, it's worth noting that the ES is known for prioritizing comfort and quiet cruising over sporty driving dynamics.

The range of the ES EV is estimated to be around 300 miles for the front-wheel-drive ES350e and 250 miles for the all-wheel drive ES500e. These estimates are expected due to the additional power and advanced technology employed in the vehicle.

The interior of the ES EV achieves a sophisticated look through its uncluttered design and high-quality materials. The use of ambient interior lighting and 3D-printed faux bamboo wood trim adds visual intrigue, making the cabin feel even more luxurious.

A prominent 14.0-inch infotainment touchscreen takes center stage on the ES EV's dashboard, featuring wireless connectivity for smartphones with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A premium audio system is also available as an option, further enhancing the driving experience.

The ES EV will be equipped with the latest version of Lexus's Safety System+ 4.0 suite of hardware and detection equipment, providing enhanced safety features and driver-assistance capabilities. A competitive limited warranty and powertrain warranty are also offered, along with a short period of complimentary scheduled maintenance.
