The new Renault Duster has officially arrived in India, offering a fresh spin on its familiar design with styling details tailored to the local market and a more refined interior. The Indian-spec Duster steps apart from its global siblings through distinct exterior tweaks, including bold lettering, an oversized aluminum-effect skid plate, and enlarged side inlets.
In contrast, the interior has been completely reworked with added features, updated key touchpoints, and a more polished feel. 25-inch digital instrument display, both neatly integrated into the dash.
The infotainment system now runs Google's built-in suite with voice controls and native navigation. Safety has also been upgraded with six airbags and a full ADAS suite included as standard.
Practicality is enhanced with 518 liters of cargo space expandable to 700 liters when packed to the roof. 0-liter three-cylinder engine producing 99 hp and a self-charging hybrid setup delivering a combined 158 hp.
Pricing details are still under wraps, but the new Duster will compete head-to-head with segment heavyweights like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The Indian Duster will be produced locally at Renault's Chennai facility with a 90 percent localization rate.
The Indian-spec Duster's focus on local design elements and features may appeal to budget-conscious buyers, but its lack of all-wheel drive might limit its off-road capabilities compared to European counterparts.
