The automotive landscape in China is about to get a lot more interesting with the arrival of Haval's latest flagship SUV, set to rival the likes of the Toyota Land Cruiser and Land Rover Defender. As the top-tier model in Haval's lineup, this plug-in hybrid SUV promises to shake things up in the market, thanks to its robust design and advanced technology features.

Currently known as the HX, but yet to receive its official name, the new model boasts a serious step-up from some of the company's existing models. With Great Wall Motor backing, it has the potential to become a major player not just in China but also in select international markets.

Haval's designers have taken clear inspiration from market-leading off-road-oriented SUVs like the Defender and YangWang U8, even incorporating similar design elements such as a two-tone bronze-and-black paint scheme reminiscent of BYD's flagship SUV. This attention to detail is evident throughout the vehicle's design, showcasing chunky door handles, thick pillars, and squared wheel arches.

The front of the HX features large square headlights with a simple silver grille and black lower bumper, while positioned above the windshield is a LiDAR sensor for enhanced navigation capabilities. Along the sides, visible are chunky door handles, thick pillars, and squared wheel arches that give the vehicle a robust appearance.

However, it's not just about looks; the HX also boasts an impressive underpinning with the GWM One architecture, which will initially be sold as a plug-in hybrid incorporating a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and two electric motors. This powertrain combination promises to deliver exceptional performance and efficiency.

Under the hood, the HX features an all-wheel drive system and a four-speed automatic transmission, providing drivers with seamless control over their vehicle. The addition of self-driving features such as GWM's Navigate On Autopilot function will also enhance the overall driving experience, allowing for both urban and highway navigation.

The autonomous parking feature is another notable aspect of the HX, which promises to make life easier for drivers in crowded city streets or parking lots. With its advanced technology features and robust design, this SUV has all the makings of a serious contender in the market.

While pricing details have yet to be confirmed, it's expected that the HX will launch towards the end of Q3, with exports potentially following soon after. As Haval looks to expand its global presence, this flagship SUV is set to play a key role in establishing the brand as a major player in the international market.

With its impressive design, advanced technology features, and robust performance capabilities, Haval's latest flagship SUV is poised to shake up the market and leave a lasting impression on potential buyers. As the Beijing Auto Show approaches, excitement builds for this highly anticipated vehicle.
