Audi Updates A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron Lineups with New Tech

Audi has announced a slew of updates for its 2027 A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron lineups, aiming to rectify past design decisions. The new models will feature physical controls on the steering wheel, including scroll wheels inspired by the Concept C's interior. While this move may seem counterintuitive, it is a step towards a more tactile driving experience.

The redesigned steering wheel now boasts scroll wheels, replacing traditional buttons and knobs. However, other important functions such as climate control remain exclusively handled by screens. To address this, both e-tron models are receiving updated software, which promises a cleaner appearance with more familiar touchpoints and a more navigable experience.

The new software will feature fewer lists, better graphics, and increased contrast between icons and backgrounds. Some menus will also display a 3-D model of the owner's specific car, including the correct paint color. This update aims to strike a balance between technology and driver engagement.

With this redesign, Audi is targeting a more immersive driving experience for its customers. The updated models are scheduled to arrive at dealerships in the second quarter of 2026, with pricing starting at $67,995 for the A6 e-tron and $65,795 for the Q6 e-tron. The S6 e-tron starts at $80,895, while the SQ6 e-tron opens at $74,495.

In Sportback form, the Q6 e-tron costs $69,595, and the SQ6 starts at $76,895. Audi's decision to revisit its design choices is a testament to the brand's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
