Maserati has announced significant discounts on its electric vehicles (EVs), with the goal of making them more competitive in the market. The Italian brand is offering $85,000 in EV Assistance Cash on select 2025 Folgore models, which could work out to a discount of up to 43% off the sticker price.
This move comes as buyers begin to question whether Maserati's electric offerings are worth the investment due to their limited range and perceived lack of appeal compared to other luxury brands. The discounts apply to the GranTurismo Folgore, GranCabrio Folgore, and Grecale Folgore models, which were previously criticized for not offering enough value for the price.
As a result, Maserati is now trying to make up for lost ground by slashing prices on its EV lineup. With these discounts, buyers may be able to get into an electric Maserati at a lower cost than they would have been able to just months ago.
However, some critics argue that the limited range and lack of appeal of Maserati's EVs mean that huge discounts can't fix what's missing from the brand's offerings. Despite this, Maserati is taking steps to make its electric lineup more attractive to buyers, including offering additional incentives and features on certain models.
As a result, it remains to be seen whether these discounts will be enough to turn around the fortunes of Maserati's struggling EV business.
While massive discounts can certainly help move inventory off the lot, they may not be enough to overcome the perception that Maserati's electric vehicles lack appeal compared to other luxury brands. To truly compete in this market, Maserati needs to focus on addressing the range and value concerns of its EVs.
