A Jeep Grand Cherokee L sale in New York has sparked a lawsuit over mileage and contract terms that allegedly did not match what was agreed upon. The buyer, Louis Huertas, claims he was sold a used car with an inflated mileage count, despite listing only 13 miles on the vehicle. This discrepancy is just the latest in a string of allegations against the dealership.
According to the lawsuit filing, Riverdale Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram offered Huertas a trade-in value that was 20 percent above market value for his existing Grand Cherokee, and agreed to pay off his loan balance contingent on the purchase of the new vehicle. However, when GM Financial Services contacted Huertas, they informed him that the dealership had allegedly falsified the mileage count, claiming it showed only 13 miles when in fact it had over 6,200 miles.
The buyer further alleges that the sales contract he received did not match what he agreed to at signing, listing a cash price of $51,400 and including additional fees and services that he claims were not authorized. The lawsuit also claims that the dealership digitally forged Huertas' signature on the final sales contract, using electronic platforms to conceal the true cost of borrowing.
