The arrival of Mercedes-Benz's eActros electric semi-trucks in Chile marks a significant milestone in the company's South American expansion. The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 packs more than 600 kWh of total battery capacity from three 207 kWh LFP battery packs. The LFP chemistry was chosen for its high usable energy content, durability in high-speed charging, and long projected service life. With a target durability of up to 1.2M kilometers, the eActros is designed to withstand the demands of heavy long-haul work.

The batteries send power to an 800-volt electric drive axle developed by Mercedes/Daimler Trucks, which integrates two electric motors and a heavy-duty transmission. This setup enables the eAxles to produce up to 600 kW of power, making it suitable for hauling up to 40 tons of combined vehicle weight over long distances.
The eActros trucks are being deployed in Chile as part of a growing trend towards electrification in the trucking industry.
